GWADAR (6 AM Report): Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Passand Khan Buledi has said that with the financial support of China, 75% of the construction of water desalination plant has been completed to supply 1.2 million gallons of clean drinking water to the residents of Gwadar city.
“It will cost 2 billion rupees and it is expected that this project will be completed in April 2023,” Engineer Abdul Wahid Baloch while giving a detailed briefing to Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Passan Khan Buledi said that the water desalination water plant is being completed by China with a generous grant of 2 billion rupees to supply 1.2 million gallons of clean drinking water per day.
He said that along with the construction of the water desalination plant, Gwadar Port Authority is also making progress to lay a water supply line of about 1 km long from the plant to the main water supply network of Gwadar city, on which work is in progress.
He added that through this, clean drinking water will be provided to the residents of Gwadar through taps inside the houses, and added that the 1.2 million gallons per day water desalination plant is spread over an area of about one acre, the speed at which the work on the plant is progressing is commendable.
He said that the water desalination plant is being completed with the cooperation of Gwadar Port Authority and China Harbor Engineering Company. This plant will meet the water demand of Gwadar city and Gwadar port.
