Relatives of deceased placed coffins outside the CM House in Quetta demand early action against culprits
Mutilated body of women, 2 sons recovered from a well
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The dead bodies of a woman and her two sons were recovered from a well in District Barkhan on Tuesday who heirs have laid allegations on Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran of their murder.
However, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has strongly refuted the allegations, saying that it was a conspiracy against him, hatched by his own son for the property and position of Sardari. He said this talking to a private news channel after he was questioned about the storm of criticism being directed against him on social media platforms.
Meanwhile, Police say that the dead bodies have been shot dead at a pointblank range and thrown into the well. Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran further said that he himself had requested Chief Minister Balochistan to form a Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) on the matter.
On the other hand, the relatives of the deceased have brought the dead bodies and placed the coffins outside the Chief Minister House in Quetta and they are demanding immediate action against the culprits.
District Police Officer Barkhan SP Noor Muhammad Bareech, talking to media, said that the dead bodies were found in Haji Kot area of Barkhan which were taken out with the help of rescue teams.
The dead bodies were later shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital for identification and other medico-legal formalities. Police say that dead bodies have not been identified yet as the face of the women was badly mutilated.
However, a resident of District Duki Khan Muhammad Marri has claimed that these dead bodies are that of his 40 years old wife Garnaz, 22 year old son Muhammad Nawaz and 15 year old son Abdul Qadir.
Khan Muhammad Marri has alleged that for the last four years, the deceased were in the custody of Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, adding that in confinement worst atrocities were inflicted on his wife and sons and they were kept hungry.
He also alleged that his 14 year old daughter and five to 13 years four sons are also in the private jail of Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran. It may be mentioned here that a few days ago, a video of the deceased women surfaced on social media who was appealing her release from Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and was also holding Quran in her hands. She had also alleged that her daughters are also abused in the custody.
Consequently, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan had also raised this matter in Senate of Pakistan on 26th of January and had demanded release of Khan Muhammad Marri’s wife and sons.
At the time of filing this story, the protest of the Marri tribe with the dead bodies is underway in Red Zone area of Quetta.
In the meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has expressed his solidarity with the victims and has ordered the authorities concerned to form a JIT to investigate the matter impartially.
A meeting under the chair of Home Minister Ziaullah Langau is also reviewing the various aspects of the incident and the subsequent matters after the sit-in of the heirs of Barkhan victims.
Provincial Minister Mir Naseebullah Marri, MPA Sana Baloch and Additional Chief Secretary Home Zahid Saleem are also attending the meeting wherein DC, Commissioner and Police authorities are also present.
ACS gave a briefing to the participants of the meeting and six points being presented by the protestors are being deliberated upon.
