AC orders former CM Punjab Usman Buzdar to join investigation in corruption, assets case

LAHORE (Online): Accountability Court (AC) has ordered former Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar to join investigation into case pertaining to corruption and accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.

The case came up for hearing before AC Monday. The former CM Punjab appeared in the court.

During the hearing of the case the court  remarked the accused should know what is allegation.

NAB told the court Usman Buzdar did not join the investigation.

The learned judge inquired from Usman Buzdar why he is not joining investigation.

The former CM Punjab told the court he would soon join the investigation. There is a marriage function. Give me the time for 10 days.

The judge remarked “ you should not make excuses. Marriage is not pretext. Buzdar Sahb what have you to do in marriage. You are demanding time for 10 days. If you don’t join the investigation then you will not get relief from me. Ask from NAB they started inquiry on what evidences.

Former CM Punjab Usman Buzdar said “ NAB says I have assets worth Rs 10 billion. My whole tribe don’t possess  assets valuing Rs 10 billion.

The court extended the bail of Usman Buzdar till March  and ordered him to join investigation.

The court ordered Usman Buzdar to appear in NAB office on March 03 besides directing him to provide copy of inquiry.
