QESCO postpones drive to disconnect agri tube wells
QUETTA (6 AM Report): In view of assurance and landowners’ issues, Quetta Electric Supply Company has decided to postpone the drive to disconnect agricultural tube wells on Friday.
On the direction of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo, the provincial government paid the agricultural subsidy dues in a meeting held to prepare a workable action plan for the problems faced by the landlords regarding electricity and the payment of subsidy on electricity bills.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Imran Gachki presided over the meeting, Secretary Energy Bashir Khan Bazai, CEO Kisco Abdul Karim Jamali, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Lal Jan Jafar and Special Secretary Finance Habib Jamot and other related officers also participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, issues related to the payment of dues of zamindars were also reviewed and a clear procedure will be formulated in this regard with the help of the established committee consisting of the federal government and the zamindars action committee.
Earlier, Balochistan Growers Action Committee (GAC) blocked all highways across Balochistan against the unscheduled load-shedding in the province. Due to the protests, intra-district transport remained suspended, creating problems for the commuters.
