ZHOB: In order to provide free health services to the marginalized communities at their doorstep, The Trust for Vaccines and Immunization (TVI) in collaboration with Aga Khan Foundation organized five-day free medical and vaccination camps on maternal and child health in different union councils of the district. Hundreds of patients including women and children suffering from different diseases were examined, immunized and provided them with free medicines.
According to the District Coordinator TVI Rohullah Babar, over three thousand patients have been examined by male and female doctors during the five-day camps.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ramzan Palal flanked by Assistant Commissioner Hafiz Tariq and DSP Sher Muhammad visited the camps and inspected the facilities. DHO Dr Muzaffar Shah, N-Staff Officer Dr Amin and Coordinator TVI Rohullah Babar briefed the deputy commissioner about the medical camps.
The ComNet staff went door to door in the targeted union councils to sensitize people about the camps and the importance of immunization, so that more people could benefit from the facilities.
ComNet staff member Abdul Salam Mandokhail said that organizing the camp was aimed at providing medical facilities to poor and needy patients in targeted areas of the district.
World Health Organization’ s representative Sami Kakar also visited the camps and appreciated the efforts of the health staff. He said that the camps were being organized before and after the anti-polio campaigns. The aim of holding was not only to provide medical facilities to the communities, but also to restore their trust in vaccines.
In the medical camps, children were vaccinated and various food supplements were provided to the malnourished children. The under five children were also administered anti-polio drops during the medical and vaccination camps.
