QUETTA (6 AM Report): The 4th meeting of the Think Tank of Government of Balochistan was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Abdul Aziz Uqaili here on Monday.
During the course of meeting, deliberations were made on the healthcare system in Balochistan.
As a matter of fact, the Think Tank proposed the need for research in different areas, which included: to conduct study on different models, i.e., PPP, Autonomous healthcare hospitals/Institutions, Semi autonomous model , in comparison to existing mainstream healthcare model in Balochistan; to conduct impact study on health professional allowance/ periphery allowance on doctors and staff availability and performance .
The study will also cover whether the contract employment has helped in the presence of doctors in the periphery and in improvement of healthcare service delivery.
It was also recommended that the Healthcare Commission of Balochistan may be made functional at the earliest to improve services through supportive supervision.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary, who also happens to be the Chairman of the Think Tank, said that in the meetings, the Divisional Commissioners and DCs should also be invited to attend online for making the forum more vibrant and effective.
