Khushal Kakar demands a new social contract to steer country of crises

QUETTA (6 AM Report): “If the resolutions of March 23, 1940 had been implemented according to its original spirit, Pakistan would not have split into Bangladesh, nor would the current Pakistan have become a prison for nations and would have suffered political and economic bankruptcy.”

The views have been expressed by Chairman Khushal Khan Kakar and Co-Chairman Mukhtar Khan Yousafzai of Pashtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) in their joint statement issued here on Saturday.

He said that as a result of the struggle of patriotic, freedom-loving, and democratic forces in the Pashtun homeland and the sub-continent of Pakistan, when the British colonialists decided to leave the region, the nations and peoples living in the region had hope that they would get the opportunity and right to live in an environment free from all kinds of exploitation and freedom, and a glimpse of it was prominent in the resolutions of 1940.

He further added that The Resolution clearly stated that it would be a voluntary federation in which the constituent units would have the status of independent, sovereign and sovereign states, but unfortunately, after the formation of Pakistan, these principles were deviated from in the country for a long time.

He said that Ayubi martial law was imposed and the way of democracy was blocked and the right to vote was denied, adding that it was not accepted, in which the Awami League had a majority and as a result of this Punjabi colonialism, the country broke up and a new country came into being called Bangladesh.

He demanded of a new social contract to give rights to the people of Pakistan, adding that it was the only way out of the current crises.
