QUETTA (6 AM Report): Chief Minister Balochistan has said that availability of cheap flour is being ensured in all the provinces while support price of wheat is also brought at par with other provinces and the issue of gas loadshedding has been taken up with the federal government repeatedly to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas to the masses in the month of Ramada.
Spokesman of CM Balochistan Babar Yousafzai also informed that the support price of wheat is set at a minimum of Rs 4000 per 40 kg. The objective of this initiative is to increase the production of wheat by encouraging and providing financial support to the landowners purchase of wheat this year.
In this regard, the Food Department has been release 6 billion rupees and the Finance Department will release another 2 billion rupees to the Food Department.
It is worth mentioning here that last year, the provincial government provided free wheat seeds worth more than two billion rupees to the landowners.
It is also learnt that preparations in this regard are complete and 23 centers have established in 4 zones for purchase of wheat and 4 Deputy Project Director and 23 Center In-charges have also been appointed.
The notification of appointment of project director will be issued by today. Section 144 will be enforced from 1st April for wheat procurement process.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qadoos Bizenjo, the availability of cheap and quality flour is being ensured in all districts of the province, said an official hand out issued here.
It was stated that in the blessed month of fasting, 15,000 bags of flour will be distributed in all districts of the province at Rs.1575 per twenty kg in the first phase.
Moreover, the availability of flour has been ensured which the people are getting easily and all deputy commissioners and district officers of the food department are monitoring the process of flour distribution.
There are clear instructions to ensure that there is no shortage of flour in Balochistan at present and the Chief Minister has also ordered action against the hoarders of flour and those who sell flour at prices higher than the fixed rates. “I hope that the people do not face any problems related to the supply of flour and that quality flour is available to them at uniform rates across the province,” CM Bizenjo has said.
Similarly, CM has also expressed his displeasure over the SSGC authorities, saying that the matter would be taken up with the federal government and the provincial government also reserves the right to protest if gas supply was not restored in the month of Ramazan.
