Khaliq Rind, Banaras Khan of JP make a clean sweep in Quetta Press Club elections

QUETTA (6 AM Report): Elections of Quetta Press Club have been completed, the Journalists Panel made a clean sweep and Abdul Khaliq Rind was elected president for the second time and Benares Khan was elected general secretary.
Quetta Press Club elections for the year 2023-25 were held on Wednesday in Quetta Press Club under the supervision of Election Committee Chairman Nadir Chhalgari Advocate and Election Committee members Bilal Mohsin Advocate, Ghoram Aslam Baloch Advocate, Changaiz Hai Advocate, Khalil Khattak Advocate and Farooq Mastoi Advocate.
Out of 122 members of Quetta Press Club, 112 members exercised their right to vote in the elections. According to the results, Abdul Khaliq Rind, the candidate of the Journalists Panel, was elected as the president of Quetta Press Club for the second time by securing 84 votes, while Fateh Shakir, the candidate of the Progressive Panel, got 25 votes, and Mustafa Tareen, the candidate of the Journalists Panel, got 78 votes and became the senior vice president.
Faridullah of the panel got 28 votes, Naseem Hameed Yousafzai, the candidate of the journalists panel for vice president, got 77 votes.  Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Spokesperson CM Babar Yousafzai congratulated Khaliq Rind on being elected as president and Banaras Khan as General Secretary. They also expressed their resolve to continue to cooperate with the journalist unions for the cause of free press.
