QUETTA (6 AM Report): Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar met with a delegation of representatives from Lasbela and Gwadar to discuss maintaining sustainable peace, controlling crime, and providing a peaceful and secure life for residents of Balochistan.

During the meeting, Governor Kakar emphasized that the Levies Force is still effective in achieving these goals. He added that the Levies Force is an old and traditional force but can be strengthened with modern training and facilities to make it more active and capable in new urban life.

Governor Kakar also pointed out that historically, the Levies Force has recruited local people who are well aware of their area, local residents, and especially concerned with peace and security. Therefore, the Levies Force officers respect local customs and traditions while strictly enforcing the law. The delegation expressed their concerns about ending the Levies Force in the districts of Gwadar, Lasbela, and Quetta. They requested that orders be issued to reinstate the Levies Force in these districts.

After listening carefully to the delegation’s concerns, Governor Balochistan said that he would consult with legal experts on this matter before discussing it with relevant officials.
