QUETTA (6 AM Report): The National Highway Authority (NHA) has achieved a remarkable feat by restoring the difficult roads of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for traffic within 12 hours on an emergency basis due to landslides. The recent heavy rains in the adjacent area of Danasar caused landslides that severely affected the main highway, suspending all traffic.
To restore the road for traffic on an emergency basis, Federal Secretary Communications and Chairman National Highway Authority Captain (retd) Muhammad Khurram Agha immediately mobilized the field staff of NHA, which was supervised by NHA member West. The zone was done by Shahid Ehsanullah and was always in touch with the Federal Minister of Communications and the Federal Secretary to inform about the latest situation.
NHA General Manager Balochistan North Agha Inayat, Director Raheel Ahmed, and Deputy Director Maintenance Job Unit also worked diligently to restore the affected National Highway in difficult and remote areas like Danasar. The restoration work was very difficult, which could have taken several days for the rehabilitation of the highway. However, the NHA engineers and other related staff completed the work while observing the fast of Ramadan. The restoration work was completed within 12 hours for minor traffic and within 24 hours for all traffic. The efforts of the Secretary Communications and the concerned officers and staff of NHA were greatly appreciated by the Federal Minister of Communications Asad Mahmood, who expressed great joy at the achievement.
