‘Unnecessary check posts to be removed,’ Governor

NUSHKI (6 AM Report): Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Kakar has announced that unnecessary check posts will be removed from the province in a bid to improve the state’s security situation.
He made the remarks during his visit to the city of Nushki, where he addressed tribal elders, party leaders, and dignitaries.
The Governor stressed that if there is peace and order in the province, education, business, and development will take place. He also noted that employment opportunities in Balochistan are limited, and people have to work on the border to earn a living.
During his speech, Governor Kakar informed the attendees that the small zamindari and herding practices that people used to live by had been eliminated, leaving many people without a means of livelihood. He also stated that the government is considering bringing levies back to the check posts, and the Commissioner Khurram Khalid would deal with the levies.
Furthermore, the Governor assured the people of Balochistan that he understands their sufferings and worries and will solve their problems. He directed Commissioner Rakhshan Division to sit with the people in Nushki every month and find out their problems and solve them.
Regarding tribal disputes, he announced that he will make a detailed visit to Nushki after Eid and hold a jirga to take authority from the parties to resolve the disputes. In this regard, he urged the people of the area to ask those people who are stuck in some trouble and have worsened the situation.
He also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone who occupies government land, and the concerned commissioner and deputy commissioner would be responsible. Governor Kakar stressed that unnecessary check posts would be removed from tomorrow.
The Governor was saluted by the police patrol and presented with a guard of honor on his arrival in Nushki. Commissioner Khurram Khalid, DIG Rukhshan Region Police Nazir Kurd, BNP District President Haji Mir Bahadur Khan Mengal, and other officials were also present at the gathering.
