QUETTA (6 AM Report): A meeting was held in Balochistan province to discuss the implementation of directives issued by the federal government and the special orders of the federal Minister of Interior and Home Minister Zia Langau to prevent smuggling towards neighboring countries, especially in other regions of Balochistan.
The meeting was chaired by Saleh Muhammad Nasir, Additional Chief Secretary of Interior Balochistan, and attended by officials from Pakistan Customs, FC, police, and all relevant authorities at the divisional and district levels.
During the meeting, it was decided that all relevant officials of the departments concerned throughout the province would be appointed on joint check-posts established across the province. Every possible measure would be taken to prevent smuggling of all kinds of goods and ensure their complete eradication. Committees would be established at the district level to ensure the active participation of administrative officials in the province, with the cooperation of other authorities, to ensure the end of hoarding and profiteering.
In addition to this, it was also decided that the existing anti-smuggling wing of the Balochistan Home Ministry would be fully restored and the aforementioned wing would soon begin its operations, in accordance with the special directives of Mir Ziaullah Langau.
