QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Pashtun Khwa Milli Awami Party has issued a statement rejecting the recent census and calling for a re-census to be conducted.
Isa Roshan, the Central Information Secretary of the party, and Zaman Khan Kakar, the Provincial Information Secretary, expressed concern about the accuracy of the recent census and alleged that it had been manipulated to benefit certain political forces.
They added that their party recognizes Baloch as an equal nation but asserts that the political forces of Baloch are only inclined to convert Pashtuns into a minority for a few seats, districts, tehsils, jobs, and money, and share in PSDP. The party claims that Pashtuns in South Pashtunkhwa are being turned into a minority through efforts to expand, which is not a positive process in any way.
According to the party, the recent census has been manipulated through various conspiracies and tactics, resulting in a more than 100% increase in the population of many districts and areas of the province. The main objective of this bogus census is to increase the number of provincial constituencies in these districts. The party alleges that the Provincial Organization of Census, Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners showed negligence and carelessness in this important work, resulting in a failure and suspicious process.
The party claims that the recent census has destroyed the growth rate scale of the province and the credibility of the census has been completely destroyed. The party cited Quetta as a clear example of inattention, carelessness, and negligence of the responsible institutions. The party rejects the Chief Secretary’s claim that the reduction in the census in Quetta is due to the lack of interest of the people.
The Pashtun Khwa Milli Awami Party is calling for a re-census to be conducted so that this dispute between the two brotherly nations can be resolved permanently. The party urges the authorities to take corrective action and ensure that the re-census is transparent and accurate.
