Umrani warns of potential disaster as canal closure plan could submerge DM Jamali

NASEERABAD (6 AM Report): Former Provincial Minister Mir Mohammad Sadiq Umrani expressed concern over the plan to close the canal by removing soil from the Pat Feeder canal.
Umrani believes that the plan is a well-thought-out conspiracy to submerge the city of Dera Murad Jamali. He accused the bypass contractor and the irrigation department of trying to destroy the pat feeder completely by lifting the soil from the banks of the canal and blocking it due to the bypass.
Umrani further stated that the construction of a bridge in the area was just a pretext to change the map of the Pat Feeder Canal. He warned that if the canal is blocked, water from the flood trains that rains on the hilly areas will easily enter the canal and the dam made for the preparation of the bypass will prevent the water from going further, which will lead to the submersion of the populated city.
He called on the Secretary Agriculture, Chief Secretary Balochistan, and other authorities to take notice of the serious corruption and take action to save the area from a potential disaster.
The Minister of Irrigation Department, who belongs to the same constituency, has been accused of having nothing to do with this disaster.
