6 cops martyred, 2 injured in encounter with kidnappers

Governor, CM and others express grief and sorrow over loss of lives of police in the incident

QUETTA/JAFFERABAD (6 AM Report): A tragic incident has taken place in the Jagir area of Jacobabad where 6 police personnel of the Balochistan Police, including an Inspector, were martyred and two others were injured in an encounter with dacoits.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the police team was conducting a raid to recover an abducted person.

Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar expressed his sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of police personnel during the operation. He emphasized that the government was determined to establish lasting peace in the province and that protecting the lives and property of the people was their responsibility.

In addition, Balochistan’s Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo also expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of Inspector and 6 personnel of Balochistan Police. He praised the courage and bravery of the police officers who showed exceptional bravery while confronting the anti-social elements during their duty. He extended condolences and solidarity with the families of the martyrs, stating that they stand with them in their grief.

The spokesperson of the Balochistan government, Farah Azim Shah, also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives of the brave officers who showed great courage and bravery in confronting the anti-social elements. She condemned the incident and extended sympathies and condolences to the families of the martyred officers.

The Sindh government has assured that the culprits involved in the incident will be brought to justice soon. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

According to a police spokesman, five police personnel of Jaffarabad police were martyred and two others sustained injuries in the exchange of fire between police and kidnappers. The deceased were identified as SI Tayyab Hussain Umrani, Head Constable Syed Khadim Ali Shah, Syed Riaz Shah, ATF Constable Muhammad Usman and ATF Constable Abdul Wahab while the injured include Altaf Hussain Ali and Hussain Ali.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan also prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the speedy recovery of the injured police personnel. He urged the authorities to take strict action against those involved in the incident and ensure the safety and security of the people.
