QUETTA (6 AM Report): Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has emphasized the need to introduce drip irrigation systems and enhance the capabilities of farmers to not only promote agriculture but also increase overall national productivity.
“The districts of Nasirabad and Jaffarabad in Balochistan are particularly fertile in terms of agriculture. Improving irrigation systems in these areas and providing necessary facilities to local farmers can shed light on the possibilities of agricultural development,” he said this during a meeting with a delegation led by former provincial minister Babu Amin Umrani at Governor House Quetta on Wednesday.
The governor expressed that facing global challenges such as global warming, it is necessary to establish new lines in agriculture and livestock sectors in the province and to enhance the capabilities of farmers.
He further said that in Balochistan, the livelihoods of most people depend on agriculture and livestock, so it is essential to establish new lines in these sectors. The governor suggested that international organizations can provide financial assistance and guidance in enhancing the capabilities of farmers and establishing new lines in agriculture and livestock sectors.
