QUETTA (6 AM Report): A young butcher, Naseebullah, has died due to the Congo virus in Quetta’s Fatima Jinnah TB Sanitorium Hospital, on Wednesday.

The deceased was a resident of Chaman and was brought to the hospital on April 19 with severe fever and bleeding from the mouth. The hospital conducted tests and confirmed the presence of the Congo virus, after which treatment was started. However, the patient’s condition deteriorated, and he passed away.

Medical experts are now demanding immediate action to prevent the spread of the virus. They have called for the spraying of livestock throughout the province, citing it as a necessary measure to prevent the disease. The Congo virus is known to cause a decrease in white blood cells, leading to fever, headache, and other severe symptoms.

The doctors have also stated that many patients suffering from the Congo virus come from other areas, including Afghanistan, Chaman, Loralai, Harnai, Kohlu and Chagai. Therefore, it is imperative to remove the livestock from the markets and towns across the province.

The deceased has been handed over to his next of kin after necessary procedures were completed.

Abdul Wali Khan, another patient with Congo virus from the Lashkar Gah area of Afghanistan, is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. The doctors have warned people to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
