QUETTA (6 AM Report): Dr. Arif Khan, the spokesperson for the Young Doctors Association Balochistan has said that in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, patients in government hospitals are struggling due to a lack of facilities and on top of this, the daily visits of unrelated people to the hospitals are causing headaches for patients.

Dr. Khan highlighted that the visits from unrelated individuals, who sometimes come in the form of coordinators for the Chief Minister of Balochistan or councilors of the area, disrupt the treatment of patients and divert the attention of hospital administration, doctors, and staff away from providing proper care. These visitors, along with their private security, often demand protocols that further delay the treatment of patients. In some cases, hospital staff have even faced verbal abuse for not providing these unnecessary protocols.

As a result, the Young Doctors Association Balochistan is calling for a complete ban on such visits. They are urging the MSs (Medical Superintendents) of government hospitals to discourage unrelated visitors and instead focus on improving hospital facilities for the benefit of poor patients.

The Young Doctors Association Balochistan believes that a ban on non-medical visits to hospitals is necessary to ensure uninterrupted provision of treatment facilities to patients in government hospitals. They argue that the presence of unrelated visitors can cause interruptions in the provision of care, leading to further harm to already vulnerable patients.
