Balochistan Labour Federation organizes rallies across the province on International Labour Day

QUETTA (6 AM Report): On the occasion of International Labour Day 2023 on Monday, the Balochistan Labour Federation organized rallies across the province including in Quetta.

The rally was led by the Chairman of the Federation, Haji Bashir Ahmed Qasim Khan, along with officials of the Federation and leaders of Labour wings of Labour organizations and political parties.

The rally began by paying tribute to the great Labourers and martyrs of Chicago in 1886, after which participants stood in silence for a minute. Loud slogans were then chanted in the meeting in the favour of labour rights.

During the meeting, Chairman Basheer Ahmed and other leaders paid tribute to the great workers of Chicago and highlighted the Labour movement of 1886. They also drew attention to the struggles faced by the working class in Balochistan today, with employees of public and private institutions protesting for salaries, pensions, and benefits.

The leaders emphasized that the country’s working class employees and Labouring poor people are suffering due to political chaos and economic depression. They highlighted how the payment of petrol, gas, and electricity bills has gone beyond the reach of the poor and how mortgages are being defaulted upon. The rally ended peacefully, with all participants leaving the scene.
