QUETTA (6 AM Report): Governor of Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan, met with Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, in Islamabad on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including political and economic changes taking place in the region, the security situation, ongoing development projects in the province, and the promotion of higher education.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the current friendly relations between the center and the provinces, but stressed the need to further strengthen them. Governor Balochistan said that in order to align with the demands of the modern world, there is a need for the federal government and international organizations to provide intellectual guidance and financial assistance.
The Governor also highlighted the importance of taking practical steps at the grassroots level to eliminate pollution and alleviate poverty, saying that Balochistan is key to Pakistan’s bright future and can provide access to Central Asia.
Furthermore, the meeting resulted in an agreement to make all policies and projects at the national and provincial levels centered on the welfare of the people. The meeting was also attended by Senator Nawabzada Mir Ismail Khan of the Awami National Party, Senator Abdul Qadir and MPA Khalid Magsi of the National Assembly.
