Governor calls for improving quality knowledge in higher education institutions

TURBAT (5 AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stated that concrete steps are being taken for materializing the dream of educated and developed province.

He said that education is the basis of every kind of development, this is why the incumbent government is determined to provide quality education in the province.

The Governor was speaking on occasion of the visit of Turbat University on Thursday morning.

During the visit, he met the Vice Chancellor of Turbat University, Professor Dr. Jan Muhamad, Principal Secretary to Governor, Abdul Nasir Dotani and other faculty members and staff.

He went round of different departments and sections of the University. He was also briefed about the overall performance and functioning of the University.

Malik Abdul Wali Kakar on the occasion said that the focus of government is on quality education, and for we are taking concrete measures to materialize the dream of educated and developed province.

He said that 200 scholarships have been allocated for the students of coastal areas through Higher Education Commission. The initiative is aimed at promoting higher education in the areas, he added.

The Governor appreciated the Turbat University for playing part in promotion of higher education in the coastal areas besides Turbat and adjacent localities.

However, he stressed the need to improve the educational standard and research activities in the higher education institutions.

He also emphasized that we need to pay serious attention on making the public sector universities self-sufficient. For the purpose, the public sector universities would have to generate their resources, otherwise it would be very difficult to run them in future, the Governor maintained.
