Govt ready to talk with TLP after protest call in Punjab

ISLAMABAD (Online): Federal government has decided to start negotiations with Tehreek Labaik Pakistan (TLP) in the back drop of TLP call for protest in Punjab. For this purpose Government has constituted a committee head by Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah.

It is pertinent to mention here that TLP was banned by the previous governemnt of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI), and a notification was also issued on April 15 2021.

According issued notification TLP was banned under Anti Terrorism Act 1997. PTI banned TLP after countrywide protest demonstrations.

Tehreek Labaik was of the view that TLP is not a terrorist organisation but a political organization registered with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
