National solidarity, pensiveness & spirit of patriotism needed more than before for stability & prosperity of motherland

QUETTA (6 AM Report):  The Chief Justice, Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan has emphasized that today the national pensiveness, solidarity and spirit of patriotism is needed more than before for the stability and prosperity of the motherland.

He stressed that our political elders have to think and act in the best interest of the country remaining above our cast.

In the same way, the government’s functionaries and officers have to work for development and prosperity of the country with more hard work and dedication.

The Chief Justice stated so and expressed similar other views while addressing the flag hoisting ceremony at the High Court’s premises on Monday morning. The ceremony marked the Independence Day celebrations, which was attended by the judges of High and subordinate courts, senior lawyers and staff of the court.

The Chief Justice on the occasion paid tributes to all the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the protection and survival of the country besides safeguarding its geographical and ideological borders.

He said that this Jashne Azadi is quite unique due to certain aspects. He said t our national and provincial assemblies completed their due tenure on August 12, digital population and housing census was completed in April 2023, which was also approved by the Council of Common Interests (CCI).

Similarly, the Election Commission is busy in preparations of the upcoming general elections, which manifests that democratic system of the country is progressing constantly and with stability. Surely, the Election Commission, federal and provinces’ caretaker governments would ensure conducting of the transparent elections for prosperity and stability of the country, he believed.

Referring the last few years, the Chief Justice said that all the responsible persons failed to maintain financial discipline, which resulted in the debt increase, economic mess and inflation being faced by the masses of the country.

He said that we have to stop unnecessary use of the national exchequer and adopt austerity. He said that the dream of country’s development and prosperity can’t be materialized until and unless we would make the process of accountability effective and impartial.

The Chief Justice said that incidents of terrorism are occurring once again in the country especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw. He said that all other institutions and general public would have to play their wholehearted role along with the security agencies for elimination of terrorism in the country.

He said that today is the day of renewal of pledge, and “as Chief Justice of High Court, he, on behalf of other judges, reiterates the resolve to maintain high quality and traditions of justice for the sake of prosperity and betterment of the province.
