ISLAMABAD (PPI): President Arif Alvi has urged the politicians and stake holders to adopt the attitude of forgiveness.
" There is chaos in the world owing to moral degradation. Unity is needed for national development. Pakistan demands from its leaders to get united. Politicians and stake holders should adopt attitude of forgivenes drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)., he said this while addressing the nation after unfurling the national flag at the main flag hoisting ceremony held at Convention Center in Islamabad Monday,
Efforts for Pakistan started from 1857 war of independence, he said adding today too our soldiers, civilians and nation is rendering sacrifices of lives persistently.
One lakh lives were sacrificed in war on terror, he reiterated. These sacrifices were rendered for democracy and independence and for the supremacy of law and constitution. .
He went on to say our elders rendered sacrifices of their lives for equality, religious freedom and fundamental rights.
The atmosphere of unity and harmony can be fostered by pursuing teachings of the Holy Quran, he stressed.
Avoid hoarding, he remarked.
Dr Alvi said promoting education was of paramount importance to alleviate poverty. He regretted that 27 million children of Pakistan were out of school. He said the affluent class should come forward and make arrangements for their education. Similarly, he said ensuring better health was also pivotal to address the issue of poverty.
The president laid great emphasis on greater participation of women in economic activities. He said they constitute almost half of population and their involvement was important to achieve high growth rate.
He observed Pakistan is enriched with natural resources. The societies make headway due to justice.
