Collective dilemma that we have not succeeded in overcoming natural calamities: Governor Wali
Says Balochistan located in such region that faces dangers of earthquake, floods and drought every time
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stated that Balochistan is geographically situated in such a region which faces threats of earthquake, flood and drought every time. He noted with concern that the natural disasters cause heavy human and financial losses to the poor segments of the society. It is a collective dilemma that we have not succeeded in overcoming the natural calamities even in the present developed era.
This and similar views were expressed by the Governor while speaking to the Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Balochistan, Takri Shafqat Langove, who called on him here at the Governor House on Wednesday.
The Governor stressed that this is requirement of the time that PRCS Balochistan create new opportunities coming out of its traditional limited circle. He said that there has been key role of PRCS Balochistan to combat the natural disasters.
The Governor said that unfortunately Pakistan is included in 10 countries, which can be affected the natural calamities anytime.
He stressed that we would have to take better and effective precautionary measures for tackling any emergent situation in future.
In addition to this, the Governor also emphasized upon building capacity of the employees of all the institutions related to disaster management besides producing hundreds of volunteers at the union council level.
Meanwhile, the Governor directed to maintain office record of the PRCS Balochistan besides ensuring transparency and justice in distribution of the relief goods.
