Constitution of Pakistan ensures protection of basic rights of minorities: Bharucha
Says role of minorities can’t be denied in development of country
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The former Federal Minister and Senator (Retd) Mrs. Roshan Khursheed Bharucha has stated that the role of minorities can’t be denied in development and construction of the country. she said that the constitution of Pakistan ensures protection of basic rights of the minorities.
She noted with contentment that concrete steps are being taken for provision of equal opportunities of development to the minorities.
This and similar other views were expressed by Mrs. Roshan Khursheed Bharucha while addressing the ceremony of distribution of appointment orders to the male and female personnel of police recruited on the quota of minorities, here at the central police office on Wednesday.
Addressing the recruited women police cops, Mrs. Bharucha said that more responsibilities rest with the shoulders of women than men, and as such they would have work harder to make their presence felt.
She advised them to prove their mettle of professional capability like efficient police jawans instead of limiting them mere typical policing.
Mrs. Bharucha further said that the day is not far away that we would feel proud to be true Pakistani ending all kinds of discrimination.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh addressed the ceremony.
He said that we want such a police in which very individual of the segment is part of that on basis of merit.
He said that we have taken practical steps for welfare of the minorities and it participation of the minorities and women in the police is welcoming.
He said that it is not a sort of kindness to recruit the women in police rather it is their right. He said that the women police stations are being established in Quetta, Gwadar, Turbat, Naseerabad and other districts.
In addition to this, steps are also being taken to include transgender in the police force.
The ceremony was attended by the Additional Inspector general of Police, Jawad Ahmed Dogar, Additional IGP and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary, Chaudhary Salman and others.
