QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali constituted parliamentary committee for nomination of the caretaker Chief Minister on Thursday.
According to the official sources, the parliamentary committee announced by the Speaker provincial Assembly comprised three members each of the government and opposition side.
Those included in the parliamentary committee are: Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai as well as Muhammad Nawaz Kakar, Abdul Wahid Siddiqui and Younas Zehri.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had sent names of three MPAs to Speaker assembly including him. Other two members he referred from his side for the committee were included: Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Zamarak Khan Achakzai.
Similarly, the leader of Opposition Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate had sent names of Muhammad Nawaz Kakar, Abdul Wahid Siddiqui and Younas Zehri for inclusion in the committee.
However, the parliamentary leaders of BNP and PkMAP Malik Naseer Shahwani and Nasrullah Zairay had objected to the names sent by leader of Opposition to the Speaker.
Their plea was all three members recommended by the leader of Opposition for the committee belong to JUI, which is not technically fair.
However, the Speaker preferred the names of all six members as proposed by the Chief Minister and leader of Opposition to include in the parliamentary committee formed for nomination of the caretaker Chief Minister.
Later, in the late night development, the provincial President of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) expressed reservations over the names proposed by Chief Minister Bizenjo for the caretaker Chief Minister.
BAP leader, Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhotani said that the Chief Minister didn’t make any consultation with the party before proposing name for the slot of caretaker CM.
He vehemently rejected the name proposed by Mr. Bizenjo saying that he has created resentment in the province by proposing a “controversial” person for the caretaker CM.
