Caretaker CM directs police, other LEAs to ensure establishment of peaceful  nvironment for polls

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has stated that it is topmost priority of the caretaker governments to hold the free and fair general elections in peaceful manner. He directed the police, Levies and other law enforcement agencies to ensure establishment of peaceful environment for the elections.

He also directed them to play their active and efficient role to combat the security challenges in the province establishing the effective coordination and system of exchange of information among all the agencies.

It is also responsibility of the police and other LEAs to create sense of safety among general public by eliminating the general crimes along with terrorism.

These directives were issued by the caretaker Chief Minister while chairing the high level meeting on law and order situation in the province, here on Saturday.

Needless to mention here is that it was the maiden meeting the caretaker Chief Minister chaired after his assuming the office of caretaker Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Saleh Muhammad Nasar, Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, DIG FC, DIG CTD, Director General Levies, high ups of the intelligence agencies.

The divisional commissioners and regional police officers participated in the meeting through video link.

The overall performance of law enforcement agencies, their capacity and other related matters were discussed during the meeting.

The Additional Chief Secretary Home and Inspector general of Police briefed the meeting about overall law and order situation in the province.

Moreover, the divisional commissioners and regional police officers also briefed the meeting about law and order situation in their respective divisions.

Addressing the meeting, the caretaker chief Minister said that the caretaker governments have been established in the center and provinces according to the constitutional requirement. Now, it is the responsibility of caretaker governments to conduct the free and fair elections.

He on the occasion directed to provide protection to the passengers by increasing the security at national highways. In addition to this, the jail reforms should also be finalized working on the reforms process speedily, adding he stressed.

Mir Ali Mardan Domki said that the people of Balochistan are patriotic and respect their institutions. However, there is a need to strengthen the confidence among the general public and LEAs, he maintained.

The caretaker Chief Minister appreciated that there is a marked improvement in professional skills and performance of Police and Levies in the province.

He also applauded the role of Pak army, police, Levies and FC saying that peace has been established due to their sacrifices.

He asserted that the sacrifices rendered by the forces would not let wasted at all. He said that the requirements of police and Levies would be fulfilled by patronizing them fully. He also said that merit would be ensured in administrative affairs of the security institutions and no unnecessary pressure would be tolerated.
