Cipher case: Court approves two days further physical remand of Shah Mehmood Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (Online): The court has approved two days physical remand of former Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi in cipher case and handed over him to FIA.

Judge Abul Hasnaat Zulqarnain of special court constituted under official secret act held in-camera hearing of cipher case Monday.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was presented in the court on completion of three days physical remand.

Babar Awan and Shoaib Shaheen counsels for Shah Mehmood Qureshi also appeared in the court. Special prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi appeared on behalf of FIA.

The court while accepting FIA plea approved further two days physical remand of Shah Mehmood Qureshi and handed him over to FIA.

The court remarked if no headway is made in the case then no further physical remand will be given.

Talking to media men outside the court Shah Mehmood Qureshi said they have no justification to obtain my remand further. I am extending full cooperation and they could not present any evidence. They want to subject me to political victimization.

He went on to say they are doing injustice with law and encroaching on my right.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has resorted to Islamabad high court against his physical remand in cipher case making federation and interior secretary respondents.
