Bilawal vows to end ‘tsunami of inflation’ after coming in power
TANDALIANWALA (Online): The chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Monday promised to bring relief to the people of Punjab after coming to power.
Bilawal addressed a large gathering of workers in Tandalianwala on Monday.
PPP Chairman Bilawal said that the people were drowning in the ‘tsunami of inflation’ and were unable to pay their electricity bills.
Bilawal said the power of the PPP would be shown when the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announces the date of the general election date.
The PPP chairman said that his party would contest the general election with its manifesto that represents the interests of the common man.
He also dismissed the notion that the PPP had no presence in Punjab and said that many of its leaders and workers had sacrificed their lives for the party.
Former foreign minister Bilawal said that the PPP would not let anyone snatch its mandate and would go from village to village to mobilize the people.
He paid tribute to Shahadat Khan Baloch, a former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) of the PPP and called him an asset of the party.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Bilawal reiterated his request on Monday for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the election date.
When questioned, Bilawal took a jab at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for incorporating Raja Riaz, the former National Assembly opposition leader, into their party.
Responding to another query, Bilawal expressed, “I myself am a young leader, and I possess a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the youth. It is time for the youth to take charge of their future.” Bilawal mentioned that the PPP had long advocated for the return of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
He emphasised that the PPP, under any circumstances, could not be cornered, citing their participation in the 2007 elections following the tragic passing of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Regarding recent objections raised in PPP’s CEC meetings concerning the need for a fair electoral playing field, Bilawal disclosed that former President Asif Ali Zardari had been entrusted with addressing this issue. He added that if progress was not made, he would urge Asif Zardari to take decisive action.
