ISLAMABAD (Online): Pakistan and India will appear before neutral expert in accordance with Indus Water Treaty this month.
According to sources, the matter of India’s construction of dams on Pakistani rivers will be heard in one-member forum of neutral experts in Vienna in meeting scheduled for September 20 and 21.
This is the second meeting before neutral expert while the first meeting was held February of same year.
Sources said that both parties will present their positions on the controversial projects. Pakistan has raised objections on 330 megawatt Kishan Ganga and 850 megawatt sand hydropower projects. India is constructing both projects on Jhelum and Chenab rivers.
Pakistan will be represented by Federal Minister for Law and water resources and Attorney General.
Federal Secretary for water resources and Indus water Commissioner will also represent Pakistan.
A team of foreign office officials, international lawyers and team of engineers will also join Pakistani delegation.
