QUETTA (6 AM Report): The caretaker Provincial Minister for Home, Captain (Retd) Mir Muhammad Zubair Jamali visited the SSP Traffic Office Quetta on Wednesday.
The SP Traffic, Malik Muhammad Javed welcomed the Minister Home and briefed him about the overall functioning of the Traffic Police.
Also present on the occasion were the Staff Officer, Attiqur Rehman and IT Incharge, Muhammad Azam.
IT Incharge briefed the Minister Home about the smart traffic management system, Eaasta App, E-chalaning and road safety.
The Minister Home was also briefed about the licensing, monitoring and service infrastructure besides other related issued.
Speaking on occasion, the Minister said that it is no less than a challenge to keep running over 500,000 vehicles in Quetta city.
He said that the provision of police services, education and enforcement are top priorities of the government. He noted with contentment that the Traffic police is providing best services despite limited resources. He said that the roads accidents would be decreased by implementing the traffic laws. Moreover, the 80 percent head injuries would also be reduced by using helmets while riding bikes.
While briefing the Minister, SP Traffic informed that committees have been formed comprising transporters, social activists and traders representatives for resolving the traffic issues. Similarly, crackdown is also being done against encroachments at vast level, he informed.
He described encroachments, improper road structure and enormous increase in the number of vehicles as major reasons behind hurdles in flow of traffic.
