QUETTA (APP)- Balochistan Health Dept takes initiative for enhancing Medico-legal Services
Balochistan Health Department has taken a groundbreaking step to enhance medico-legal services in the province.
According to press release, Medico-legal officers have been appointed for every district and a high-level advisory council has been set up to supervise these services.
The Council for Medicolegal Services Balochistan is actively working to improve these services. They have initiated consultations to enhance the Medico-legal Certificate (MLC) department at BMC Hospital and Civil Hospital Quetta. This effort aims to ensure that MLC and postmortem reports in the province adhere to legal standards, effectively curbing any illegal practices, said press release.
Balochistan Health Department plans to provide foundational training to the newly appointed medico-legal officers at the forensic department of BMC Quetta. This training will equip them with essential knowledge of medico-legal laws, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively.
Dr, Samiullah Kakar was nominated as the convener of the Medico-legal advisory council for supervising these initiatives and providing regular progress updates to the Secretary Health.
