Caretaker CM calls for preparing mechanism to use limited resources effectively
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has stated that there is a key role Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in any emergent situation including the natural disasters, what’s needed is to utilize the resources in better and organized manner and ensure advance arrangements well before any emergent situation.
The caretaker Chief Minister was addressing a review meeting about the departmental matters of PDMA here on Friday.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister said that any relief activity is quite difficult task in the province which has vast area with scattered population.
We have to form such a mechanism for using the limited and available resources effectively under which PDMA may continue the relief and rehabilitation operation, search, rescue and risk management process in quite better way, adding he stressed.
The caretaker Chief Minister was briefed about the PDMA’s mandate, administrative affairs, storage and ware houses present in different areas of the province, process of purchasing necessary goods, losses caused due to the flood in year 2022 and 2023 besides the relief and rehabilitation operation carried out then, etc.
Similarly, the meeting was also informed about the progress of project of disaster management villages in the district headquarters, training programme of the PDMA and future course of action to tackle the challenges.
Those who were in attendance at the meeting were included caretaker Provincial Minister for Home and PDMA, Zubair Jamali, Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan, senior Member Board of Revenue, Abdul Saboor Kakar, Director General PDMA, Jahanzaib Khan, Additional Secretary Finance, Habibur Rehman and other concerned high ups.
