Shakeel Qadir vows to make anti-polio drive great success with cooperation of all stakeholders in Balochistan

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has categorically stated that it is firm commitment and resolve of the provincial government to eradicate polio virus from the province and country.

However, ulemas, civil society, media and every individual of the society would have to play their wholehearted for eradication of polio virus.

He said that responsibility of the safe future of our children rests with all of us.

The Chief Secretary was chairing a high level meeting on the endeavours of government for eradication of polio in the province, here on Friday.

The Coordinator of Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for polio eradication briefed the Chief Secretary about the measures being taken for eradication of the crippling disease from the province besides the upcoming anti-polio campaign in the province.

He informed that the anti-polio campaign is being launched in the province from October 2, 2023. During the campaign, over 2.6 million children below five years of age would  be administered anti-polio vaccine in the province.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary said that it is national obligation to eradicate the polio virus from the province and country.

He stressed that we have to implement the steps for eradication of polio with sincerity.

He also stressed that all concerned institutions and district administration would have to play their effective role for complete eradication of polio.

The Chief Secretary said that although we are endeavouring to save the children from the disease in an organized manner, still we need to expedite these endeavours so that no kid suffers from the virus.

He also said that it is our collective responsibility to save our future generation and ensure their safe future, and surely we would achieve the goal of polio eradication together with cooperation of all stakeholders.
