HUB (6 AM Report): Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and president Hub district, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri has expressed his reaction to the Election Commission’s decision to hold the upcoming elections in the last week of January, calling the announcement unconstitutional and undemocratic. He expressed his regret for not announcing the final date on behalf of the Election Commission and said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had demanded the final date of the elections before and he still stands by this demand.
He said that The People’s Party rejects any such unconstitutional action that may harm democracy. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also expressed his reservations on the Election Commission’s announcement and the future action plan with the party’s consultation on his return to Pakistan. He said that no one will be allowed to steal the mandate of the People’s Party and the party workers of Pakistan People’s Party are fully prepared for the elections. He further said that we have always demanded timely, transparent and fair elections. In our view, fair and impartial elections are the cause of political and economic stability in the country.
Mir Ali Hassan Zehri made it clear that if the elections are delayed or the action of 2018 election is repeated, then strong resistance will have to be faced due to which the country has to face an irreparable economic and political crisis. He demanded that the final date of the upcoming elections should be announced and the election commission officer of each district should be given the powers of the returning officer so that the transparency of the election is not questioned. He says that Pakistan People’s Party has always taken Pakistan and the nation out of difficult situations and taken it on the path of development.
