QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has underlined the need to promote coherence and unity among different languages and civilizations.
He said that we should benefit from the experiences and civilizations of the developed countries and learn the international language as the world has turned into a global village.
The Governor was speaking to the gathering of Pashtoon culture day held under the auspices of Pashto academy here on Saturday.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai, President Pashto Academy sohail Jaffar, Dr Ehsanullah Kakar, Dr Abdul Rehman, Lal Bacha Azmoon, Professor Dr Naseebullah Seemab, Naseer Bacha, Dur Muhammad Kasi and others.
It may be mentioned here that the ceremony marked celebrations of the Pashtoon culture day observed on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor said there is a strong relationship between a nation and its culture. He was of the view that culture is the name of leading life in a specific geography.
It is also combination of the long-standing traditions and the brilliant values with which our past and present is interconnected.
The Governor said the women are half of our society so the women members may be increased in the Pashto academy.
Other speakers also addressed the gathering and highlighted the history of the Pashtoon culture and importance of the day observed every year on September 23.
