Chief Secretary applauds role of World Bank in socio-economic development of Pakistan
QUETTA(6 AM Report): The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has stated that the World Bank is an important partner out of major development partners of Pakistan.
The government values the decade long ongoing assistance a lot whic is playing an important role in the socio-economic development of the country.
The Chief Secretary also appreciated the continuous support and resolve of the World Bank for the flood affected areas of the province besides ongoing development projects in Balochistan.
The Chief Secretary was speaking to the country director of World Bank, Najy Benhassine, who called on him along with his team here on Monday.
During the course of meeting, the development projects between Pakistan and World Bank were discussed.
In addition to this, matters regarding construction of houses for the flood affected people in the province, water supply projects in Quetta city, Balochistan human capital project and assistance for promotion of other activities were also discussed.
Moreover, there was consensus on continuing cooperation in development of Human Resources, educational and professional training, employment, water, agriculture, irrigation and livestock sectors.
Also present in the meeting were secretary Irrigation, Hafiz Abdul Majid, secretary Health, Asfandyar kakar, secretary Population welfare, Abdullah Khan, Secretary Education, Abdul Rauf baloch, secretary Public Health Engineering, Saleh Muhammad Baloch and secretary Planning Asghar Harifal.
