AGARTALA (INP): Indian troops shot dead a 48-year-old Muslim civilian in the Indian disturbed Agartala state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian Border Security Force personnel killed the Muslim identified as Alamgir Hossain at Durgapur village in Sonamura Sub-division of the state.
The Indian forces dubbed him a cattle smuggler.
Hossain was rushed to the Sonamura Social Health Centre, where he was declared brought dead.
Local residents rushed Alamgir to the Sonamura Social Health Centre, where the attending physician pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, Alamgir’s family vehemently while rejecting Indian forces claim said that the victim was an innocent.
The BSF was chasing the cattle smugglers, Alamgir was standing outside side, and the BSF shot him without warning,” said Hossain’s son Mohammad Ali.
The family has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against the BSF personnel responsible.
