Govt orders crackdown on non-custom paid vehicles across country

ISLAMABAD (UNA): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has ordered the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Excise Department to crack down on non-custom paid vehicles across the country.

The FBR will conduct operations in all districts along with officials of the law enforcement agencies, official sources said.

Non-custom paid vehicles will be impounded and customs duty will be collected from the owners, they added.

Billions of rupees in taxes can be collected from non-custom paid vehicles across the country. The prime minister has ordered to collect tax from non-custom paid vehicles, they stated.

A nationwide action will be taken against non-custom paid vehicles. If there is no nationwide action, non-custom paid vehicles are transported from one district to another. Action will also be taken against the excise officials who avoid action against non-custom paid vehicles, they added.
