Series of national conferences to be organized on interfaith harmony & peace building: Jan

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Information Department of Government of Balochistan has announced that it is organizing a series of National Conferences on Interfaith Harmony and Peace Building across the country.

The first Conference will be held in Islamabad on November 23, 2023, with subsequent Conferences to be held in other major cities throughout the country.

The Conferences are being organized in collaboration with the Balochistan Rural Support Programme and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, and will bring together religious leaders, scholars, activists, and community members from all faiths to discuss and promote interfaith dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.

The Conferences will focus on a range of topics, including:

-The role of interfaith harmony in promoting national integration and social cohesion

-The importance of religious tolerance and pluralism for a peaceful and prosperous society

-The challenges and opportunities for interfaith dialogue and cooperation in Pakistan

-The role of religious leaders and scholars in promoting interfaith harmony and peace building.

Information Minister Jan Achakzai said that the Conferences are being organized to “foster the narrative of Interfaith Harmony, National Integration, and inclusive platforms by promoting peace, brotherhood, and coexistence in Pakistan.”

He added that the Conferences will send a strong message that Pakistan is a country that values religious diversity and tolerance.

The Information Ministry is committed to promoting the positive image of Balochistan and countering various narratives that seek to manipulate faultlines and sow discord in the country.

The National Conferences on Interfaith Harmony and Peace Building are one of many initiatives that the Ministry is undertaking to promote unity, harmony, and peace in Pakistan.
