ISLAMABAD (Online): Pakistan while expressing grave concern over tense situation in Middle East (ME) has said establishment of peace in ME is need of hour.
International community should make full efforts along with Pakistan for ceasefire in Gaza. Pakistan demands the restrictions be lifted and their right to self determination be given to Palestinians. International community should take notice of inhuman attacks based on Israeli barbarism. India should provide full protection to Pakistan cricket team. FIR has been registered on the threats being received by Zainab Abbas, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahrah Baloch in her weekly press briefing here Thursday.
She said that the decision to cut off electricity, fuel and water supplies was “unjust and should be reversed as it would severely impact the lives of millions of people in the enclave”.
Pakistan urged the United Nations to play a proactive role in facilitating a ceasefire to alleviate the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The FO spokesperson said Pakistan had been constantly warning against serious consequences of Israel’s “escalatory and provocative actions in recent months”. She said the “unprecedented gravity of the situation demands urgent intervention by the international community”.
“The international community must work in concert for a just comprehensive and lasting two-state solution with a viable, sovereign and contiguous state of Palestine on the basis of pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital. Peace in the Middle East will remain elusive in the absence of such a solution,” she said.
She said India should lift restrictions from political activities in Occupied Kashmir and free Hurriyat leadership.
She said India is host to world cup. Providing security is responsibility of India. Providing conducive environment to Pakistan cricket team is too responsibility of India.
She added that Zainab is being dragged into case unjustly. We are in contact with India for not issuing visas to Pakistani journalists and cricket fans.
