Jan Achakzai concerned about delay in restoration of 8-hours’ power supply to growers

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai has expressed concern over delay in restoration of power supply to the growers for eight hours daily despite willingness of the Chief of QESCO the other day.

In an official statement issued here on Friday, Jan Achakzai regretfully pointed out that the daily eight hours power supply has not been restored despite the willingness made by the QESCO Chief.

He termed the delay in restoring power supply is extremely concerned.

He said that if the power supply was not restored immediately then the crops of billions of rupees can be destroyed in the province.

We would be forced to import necessary food grains if the loss was caused to agriculture and crops.

As a result, there could be financial burden on the province rather on the country, he maintained.

The Minister Information mentioned that unfortunately the growers had already faced huge losses due to the floods last year as a result their production was just devastated.

He stressed that it is unavoidable to save the source of livelihood of the farmers from further loss.

Jan Achakzai said if WAPDA remain failed to restore electricity supply as per its commitment and consensus with the provincial government, then the matter would be taken up with Prime Minister.

He said that the caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Domki would be compelled to take up the matter with caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
