Protest staged by BNP against alleged  Wadh operation 

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Balochistan National Party (BNP) staged protest demonstration against the situation in Wadh here outside the Quetta press club on Sunday afternoon.

While the leaders of BNP were also present at the protest demo, mainly it was participated by the women and children.

The leader BNP and former member provincial assembly, Shakeela Naveed Dehwar and others also joined the protest.

They condemned the alleged operation in Wadh and anti-BNP Chief policies of the government.

They demanded of the concerned authorities to stop the alleged Wadh operation and actions against Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

It may be mentioned here that the district administration had barred the BNP from staging protest on Saturday.

A letter was also written to the president BNP Quetta by Deputy Commissioner in this regard.

BNP barred from holding protest at Press club

The Deputy Commissioner Quetta barred Balochistan National Party (BNP) from staging protest demonstration outside Press Club on Sunday.

In this regard, an official letter was written to the BNP Quetta district president, in which it was intimated to him that the gatherings like of protests must be avoided in order to prevent any untoward incident.

The DC, in his letter to BNP office bearers, said that it has been learnt through reliable sources that BNP has planned to demonstrate a protest in front of the Press Club on October 15.

In this regard, it is to inform that the Home and Tribal Affairs department Government of Balochistan has currently imposed Section 144 which provides for complete ban on all types of public gatherings and blockage of streets and roads through its letter dated 13th October 2023, it was mentioned in the letter by DC.

The DC further said that “further more, a report has also been received from the Deputy Inspector General of Police regarding ban on public gatherings / protests in open areas in the Quetta district due to security concerns vide its letter dated 14th October.”
