LAHORE (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has acquitted PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi in Ephedrine case.
Appeal against life imprisonment of Hanif Abbasi has been accepted.

A two members bench presided over by Justice Alia Neelum had reserved judgment on appeal filed by Hanif Abbasi against his conviction in 500 kilogram ephedrine case.
The state counsel took the plea ephedrine was received in the company owned by Hanif Abbassi. Nothing could become known about use of137 kilogram ephedrine and nor 137 kilogram ephedrine has been recovered.
The evidence on how many capsules and tablets were prepared from ephedrine was to be provided by them. Invoice was not provided on how much lot was given to which companies. If the statements filed in 3 appeals are seen then the situation will be different.
The state counsel admitted offence of smuggling against Hanif Abbasi has not been proved.
