QMC providing services to people and cleaning city within meager resources
QUETTA (6AM Report): Hamza Shafqaat, Commissioner Quetta Division, has said that Quetta Metropolitan Corporation was providing services to the people and cleaning the city within its meager resources, adding that the issue of allocation of funds to QMC and procurement of new vehicles would be brought into the notice of government.
These views were expressed by him while talking to media during inspection of heavy vehicles and dump vehicles at Ayub Stadium here on Friday.
Administrator QMC, Jabbar Baloch gave detailed briefing with regard to campaign about cleanliness and heavy vehicles placed at the disposal of QMC. Baloch said that officers and officials of QMC were working day and night to make Quetta city clean.
He said that 150 vehicles had been placed at the disposal of QMC, adding that most of the vehicles were run out and those vehicle could not be got repaired owing to deficiency of funds. Speaking on the occasion, Hamza Shafqaat, Commissioner Quetta Division said that in order to address the issue of the salaries of the employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation and to get the out of order vehicles of QMC repaired, a proposal for announcing special development package would be submitted to the government, adding that deficiency of sanitary staff of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation make it difficult to clean Quetta city with a population of 25 lac.
He said that the issue of releasing funds to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation would be brought into the notice of Chief Minister Balochistan and Finance Department.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Saad Bin Asad, Administrator, Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, Jabbar Baloch, Chief Sanitation Officer, Anwar Lehri, Superintendent, Engineer Asfaq Badini, Sarwar Zehri and other authorities were also present.
