Tribunal dismiss appeal, Hammad Azhar, Sanam out from electoral field

LAHORE (Online): After the Returning Officer, the Election Tribunal has also rejected the appeals of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Hamad Azhar and Sanam Javed, maintaining the decision of the Returning Officer to reject the nomination papers and both the candidates have been disqualified from the election field.

According to the details, Justice Tariq Nadeem upheld the decision of the returning officer against the former federal member of the National Assembly Hamad Azhar and dismissed the appeal against the rejection of the nomination papers of NA-129 of the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab.

Hammad Azhar’s ineligibility to contest the election will remain after the appeal from the Election Tribunal is dismissed.

Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has announced to approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan against this verdict of the Election Tribunal and to participate in the upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s social media activist Sanam Javed’s appeal against rejection of nomination papers was dismissed, with which she was out of the electoral field as the Election Tribunal upheld the verdict of the Returning Officer (RO) to reject the nomination papers of Sanam Javed Khan.

In this regard, the judge of Appellate Tribunal, Justice Tariq Nadeem, gave a verdict on Sanam Javed’s appeals, in which the Election Tribunal rejected Sanam Javed’s appeal against the rejection of Sanam Javed’s papers from NA 119, 120 and PP 150.

Regarding Sanam Javed’s papers, the objection said that she signed on December 21 and the papers were submitted before the Returning Officer on December 22. Sanam Javed mentioned a joint account in nomination paper. According to rules single account should be shown in the documents.
