ISLAMABAD (Online): Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to hear petition filed by Tehreek-e-Insaf against Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding not giving a level playing field.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faizaisa will hear the case.
Notices have been issued to parties.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will also submit its detailed answer to the court on Monday. For this, Gohar Khan Advocate will submit the answer.
Some sources said that after ECP has allotted election symbols to the candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to contest the election as an independent, there is a possibility that the said application will also be ineffective. It is also possible that PTI will withdraw this application.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court had issued a written order in the Level Playing Field case, in which it was said that the ECP had submitted a 322-page response.
Chief Secretary Punjab submitted a 242-page reply. On the court inquiry, Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s lawyer said that he wants to submit his written response to these answers.
The lawyer of Tehreek-e-Insaf asked for 3 days time to submit a detailed answer. The court gave time to Tehreek-e-Insaf to submit the answer. The hearing will be held on January 15.
