Chaman dharna participants threaten to start hunger strike if demands not accepted

CHAMAN (6AM Report): The All Parties, Traders and Laghri Ittehad has threatened to start hunger strike in the protest dharna being staged in Chaman, if demands of the alliance were not met.

The speakers belonging to different segments including the political activists, traders and others demanded of the government to withdraw the one document regime and passport for movement on the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman on Monday.

It may be mentioned here that the protest dharma is continued for last 91 days in Chaman.

The dharna is being staged against the enforcement of passport at the border.

The speakers said that 91 days have been completed of the dharna.

They said that hundreds of people participate in the protest despite tough conditions and harsh weather but no steps have been taken to address the issues.

They said that a number of people and tribals have been facing problems due to the protest.

They demanded to end the passport and visa system at the Chaman border and allow the people to move across the border on identity cards and Tazkara as was being done before.

They said that the economic massacre of the Pashtoons is not acceptable at any cost.
